Developed by Gearbox Software, Borderlands is a series of action role-playing first-person shooter video game which is hugely popular among the hardcore gamers. After the release of ‘Borderlands’ in 2009 and ‘Borderlands 2’ in 2012, fans are eagerly waiting for the next iteration of the series, ‘Borderlands 3’ to be released. Pitchford recently said in an interview, “And why would it be called Borderlands 3?” Later he added,”What if it’s Borderlands 4 – there are already three Borderlands games. What we call it and what it is are things we care about, and we’re engaged about, but it would be irresponsible to share anything at this stage because almost certainly anything we’re thinking now is going to change between now and when we commit ourselves.”
But he assured that the next part of the Borderlands or better Borderlands 2 sequel would be released “There’ll almost certainly be more Borderlands, but we need to figure out what that is.” But he did not want comment on anything about the game at this moment, “because almost certainly anything we’re thinking now is going to change between now and when we commit ourselves.” Albeit, whether Borderlands 3 will be released soon or not it is still unclear as the President said, “It depends on how you define soon,”

Neumann also wrote the first edition of the video game. So when the journalists asked him about the storyline of the upcoming Borderlands 3, he jokingly replied, “Everyone dies horribly.”
But, on a serious note, the creative champion gave a hint about the character Scooter from ‘Tales from the Borderlands’ which might be referenced in ‘Borderlands 3’. Moreover, Neumann is also considering about introducing a new character in the upcoming edition, and he will be Scooter’s son, named as Scooper and will appear with a super high-pitched voice. Neumann said, “I did this whole Scooter thing, then I pitch-shifted it up like seven semitones so it sounds like a chipmunk and it was the funniest thing I’d ever heard,”.
The main reason for introducing this character is to please Pitchford’s wife, the wife who was devastated by Scooter’s fate in ‘Tales from the Borderlands’. But it seemed like all the hype and the enthusiasm among the fans regarding this third instalment of the game went in complete vain as Gearbox Software hadn’t revealed anything major and had only briefly mentioned the game at the much-anticipated event.
